Animals are much more aware of their surroundings than we give them a credit for. If an animal handler is inexperienced, your pet will notice immediately and could become stressed as a result. We have experienced handlers and drivers.
All pets aboard Alexpress Pet Transport receive high quality, grain-free food and clean, purified water. Animal’s food and water are routinely replenished in accordance with owner’s instructions. If your pet requires a specific food or feeding schedule, be sure to pack enough food for the duration of the trip and provide written instructions to our driver/handler. Pet owners should be advised that animals will be fed our grain-free selection if their supply runs out. We opt for grain-free food, it is reduces canine allergies and contains more protein than its carb-filled grain counterparts.
Pets can easily transport bacteria and diseases to other animals aboard. That’s why we require all pets to have a Certificate of Health administered by a Veterinarian as near to the date of travel as possible. This protects our drivers and handlers, and all pets involved. No exceptions will be made. We must protect all of our amazing drivers and guests.
Alexpress Pet Transport adheres to a strict standard cleaning procedure that is in line with our values. We want to make sure to keep your pet clean and comfortable during the entire trip. Our handlers will check and clean kennels every 3-4 hours. In an effort to avoid any adverse reactions to cleaning supplies, we choose only pet-friendly cleaning products.
We want to ensure your pet is happy and healthy and that they are having the ride of their life to their destination. As per our standards, we don’t want your animal to just be clean but we want them to healthy as well.
All animals are put in single cages which are built-in to be secure when the vehicle is moving. One exception is for puppies from the same litter. They will travel in the same cage that is big enough for them. We provide all cages on our trip so you do not need to purchase one.
We use straw for bedding which is very good for liquid (urine). Our handler cleans all cages when it is needed and replaces fresh straw. So our animals travel clean and comfy. We put puppy pads under the straw (just for puppies) because they are not toilet trained.
Just like humans feel the need to stretch their legs after a long drive, animals need some fresh air and exercise too! We don’t want to keep your pet cooped up in a kennel any more than you do, which is why we ensure all animals aboard are well. Our drivers stop for exercise every 3 to 4 hours of the drive. Each dog gets his own 10 minutes walk. It’s at this time that we also clean their kennels and ensure they are happy and ready for the next bit of the drive. When giving them a chance to stretch and exercise, we walk them around the location and just give them all the love they deserve.
Cats are always kept in their crate for their entire journey. Their crates are large enough to hold a full size litter box and also provide them with walking around room. We use soft sided carriers with mesh windows that have zippers on the top and sides for easy access. This helps us tend to their needs easily. These crates are escape proof.
We do transport dog breeds who suffer from Brachycephalic disorder but at the Owner’s risk. In the event that an animal requires veterinary services or passes away during transport Alexpress Pet Transport shall not be liable for any cost or damages.
Brachycephalic Dog Breeds include small and large breed dogs such as French Bulldog, Boston Terrier, Pug, Boxer, Bull Mastiff and Shih Tzu.
Yes! Alexpress Pet Transport will never turn away a special needs pet or charge an additional fee for services. We love all animals and will never discriminate just because one of our furry passengers needs extra love and attention.
Simply provide us with written instructions and required food, garments, restraints, etc and we’ll be sure to keep your loved one safe and happy throughout the trip.
Coverage costs are included in the price of animal transport services. This ensures that no matter what happens along the way, your pet will remain safe and cared for. We recommend that you talk more about the coverage and its particulars with one of our certified staff, who will be happy to explain the entire process and details to you.
A valid photo ID and signature at both pick up and drop off to ensure the safety of your pet. We will ask for the name(s) of the individual(s) expected to be present at pick up and drop off and will verify both during the process of transportation. In doing this, we will ensure your pet is picked up and dropped off safely and securely without any hitches along the way.
You will also need a Pet Health Certificate at time of pick up to ensure that your pet and the other pets on our transport are safe and healthy.
We have many clients needing to pick up or drop off pets. Our route allows us to stop every 3-4 hours to let your pets stretch their legs as well as give our handlers a chance to ensure their kennels remain clean and comfortable.
It also allows for our driver to rest, keeping all animals aboard the vehicle safe. While this does require some flexibility on the pet owner’s part, we make it our priority to ensure each pet arrives home as fast as possible, safe and sound as well, even if it means a few days before arrival.
